Shen Ling Bai Zhu San by Blue Poppy’s Great Nature Classics
is a formula that comes from the Song Dynasty Tai Ping Hui Men He Hi Ju Fang
(Tai Ping Imperical Grace Formulary).
Within this formula, Ren Shen (Radix Ginseng), Bai Zhu (Rhizoma Atractylodis
Macrocephalae), Fu Ling (Poria), and mixfried Gan Cao (Radix Glycyrrhizae), the
ingredients in Si Jun Zi Tang (Four Gentlemen Decoction), are the sovereign
medicinals which fortify the spleen and supplement the qi.
The ministers in this formula are Shan Yao (Radix Dioscoreae), Yi Yi Ren (Semen
Coicis), Bai Bian Dou (Semen Dolichoris), and Lian Zi (Semen Nelumbinis) which
supplement the spleen, seep dampness, and stop diarrhea.
Sha Ren (Fructus Amomi) dries dampness and rectifies the qi, while Jie Geng
(Radix Platycodi) upbears the clear. These two medicinals are the assistants.
Actions: Replenishes Qi, Strengthens the Spleen and Stomach, Resolves Dampness
and food stagnancy due to Spleen deficiency.
Pattern: Spleen qi vacuity with dampness
Contraindications: Use with care in case of yin vacuity heat
Chinese Symptomology: Spleen deficiency, Stomach Qi deficiency, weak muscles,
abdominal distention, indigestion, vomiting, diarrhea, pale face, palpitations,
leukorrhagia, metrorrhagia, metrostaxis.

Suggested Use:
