Sha Shen Mai Men Dong Tang by Blue Poppy’s Great Nature
Classics is a formula that comes from Wu Ju-tongs Qing dynasty Wen Bing Tiao
Bian (Systematic Diiferentiation of Warm Diseases).
Within this formula, Sha Shen, Mai Men Dong, and Tian Hua Fen nourish yin at
the same time as clearing heat and transforming phlegm.
Sang Ye out-thrusts evils and expels dryness at the same time as it nourishes
lung and stomach fluids.
Yu Zhu nourishes yin and engenders fluids without being slimy, enriching, and
stagnating.
Bai Bian Dou promotes the spleens movement and transformation as well as
insures earths engenderment of metal.
Gan Cao clears heat and harmonizes the middle. It also harmonizes all the other
ingredients in this formula.
Actions: Clears and nourishes the Lungs and Stomach, generates fluids, and
moistens dryness.
Pattern: For injury to the Lungs, Stomach and fluids from dryness.
Tongue: Usually red with little coating.
Pulse: Usually weak and rapid.
