Gou Teng Yin by Blue Poppy’s Great Nature Classics
is a formula that comes from the Za Bing Zheng Zhi Xin Yi (Newly Significant
Miscellaneous diseases Proven Treatment).
Within this formula, Tian Ma Mi Huan Jun (Armillaria), Gou Teng (Ramulus Uncariae
Cum Uncis), and Shi Jue Ming (Concha Haliotidis) level the liver and extinguish
wind. They are the sovereign medicinals.
Zhi Zi (Fructus Gardeniae) and Huang Qin (Radix Scutellariae) clear heat and
drain fire. Therefore, they assist in keeping liver channel heat from ascending
upward. These are the minister medicinals.
Yi Mu Cao (Herba Leonuri) quickens the blood and disinhibits water. Chuan Niu
Xi (Radix Cyathulae) conducts the blood and moves it downward and well as
quickens the blood and dispels stasis.
The combination of Du Zhong (Cortex Eucommiae) and Sang Ji Sheng (Herba
Taxilli) supplement and boost the liver and kidneys.
Ye Jiao Teng (Caulis Polygoni Multiflori) and Fu Ling (Poria) quiet the spirit
